The Albany Autism Center opened in January of 2008 as a not for profit organization. The purpose of the center is to provide a physical location for children with autism to come and get therapy they require; speech, occupational, physical, behavioral or social. A Speech and an Occupational Therapist will be on site and will offer services to the children enrolled in the center.
Mission
The mission of the Albany Autism Center is to create an optimal learning environment for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder to provide them with superior long term outcomes.
Philosophy
Reinforcement is the cornerstone of the learning process at the Albany Autism Center. We strive to keep children motivated and engaged in the learning process by utilizing positive reinforcement specific to each child. We believe that caring teachers who are trained in harnessing motivation and using proven teaching methods, children with all ability levels can and will learn critical skills that will prepare them to function with increasing independence.
